The Blade has arrived

Joe Rogan (JR): Ok, I’m here with newcomer to the AFC newcomer, Bryan "The Blade" Phoenix, tell us a bit about yourself for those who don’t know you

BP: I'm Bryan Phoenix, the new middleweight here in the AFC...I'm kind of a well known underground fighter, I've got a bunch of underground and amateur fights under my belt.

JR: It’s good to see the ranks of the AFC is expanding as more fighters are being signed to contracts, you are currently awaiting your debut,tell us how you plan to deal with the debut jitters.

BP: I plan on going in like I always do. I'm always focused and calm pre-fight. It's a wierd feeling I get...Its like inner peace.

JR: Since you are a new fighter in the AFC, we tend to see many new fighters not do as well because they don’t follow gameplans or haven’t trained to their ability, do you think that you can change the thought of people who think this?

BP: Yeah, I'm a very well rounded fighter, and I think I can turn some heads. I am a Boxer/Muay Thai and BJJ fighter, with a lil bit of a Judo background.

JR; That’s good, tell us about your background..How did you start fighting?

BP: Well growing up in Stockton California was rough...It's not a pretty place, I was hanging around a lot of bad things...bad people...eventually I took myself away from it all and started training out at the Diaz's/Gracie school. Just started with BJJ...But after awhile me and the Diaz's grew apart, and I kinda became a ronin of sorts. Just training from gym to gym, learning all I could...BJJ, Judo, Jeet Kun Do...eventually I found the style of my dreams....Muay Thai, aka the art of the 8 limbs...I love using my knees and elbows...as well as my fists and feet...I would love nothing more to have thrown down with some of the best here...I look forward to making my debut sometime soon.

JR: It is always good to be well rounded. Who are you currently training with?

BP: I have recently joined with the Lethal Dragons, with current AFC fighters Josh "TKO" Tiko and Rex Williams, they have taken my training to the next level.

JR: Well Bryan, I wish you the best of luck in your debut sometime soon.

BP: Thanks Joe, I can't wait to show the AFC what I got.
